The drug Farmapram belongs to the group of anxiolytics. It is prescribed for neurosis and psychopathy, which is accompanied by an anxious, restless state. The drug is effective for depression, including if it is caused by somatic diseases. For the treatment of patients with alcoholism and drug addiction, the drug is prescribed in case of diagnosis of panic disorder or abstinence syndrome.
The main component of the drug alprazolam is a benzodiazepine derivative. The active substance is insoluble in water and poorly soluble in alcohol. It is available in 0.25 mg, 0.5 mg, 1 mg, and 2 mg tablets.
Farmapram Alprazolam binds to benzodiazepine and GABAergic receptors. It affects the limbic system, thalamus, hypothalamus, polysympathetic spinal receptors, causing their inhibition. It has anxiolytic, myorelaxant, central, and sedative effects on the body.
After internal administration complete absorption occurs after 1-2 hours. Up to 80% of the substance is bound to blood plasma proteins. It penetrates through the BBB, placental barrier, and into breast milk. Metabolism in the liver takes 16 hours. Excretion of the substance occurs through the kidneys. Cumulation occurs if repeated intake is less than 8-10 hours apart.
Farmapram Alprazolam 2mg is taken orally only. The dosage is determined individually, depending on the course of the disease, tolerance of the components. Therapy begins with a minimum dose of 0.25 to 0.5 mg, which the patient takes 3 times a day. If the drug is well tolerated every 3 - 4 days, the dose can be increased. The maximum allowable value is 3 - 4 mg.

Adverse reactions also include dysmenorrhea, itching on the skin. Paradoxical phenomena are manifested by aggressive reactions, anxiety, agitation and hallucinations. With constant intake, an addictive behavior occurs. Withdrawal syndrome occurs if treatment is stopped abruptly.
Farmapram 2mg should not be combined with alcohol, neuroleptics, hypnotics, and narcotic drugs because of their increased effect. May affect reactions while driving vehicles. Discontinue use if paradoxical reactions occur.
Overdose may lead to CNS depression, coma, ataxia, decreased reflexes. First aid should cause vomiting, gastric lavage. Under hypotension, norepinephrine is administered. The antidote to the drug is flumazenil. It may be administered only under hospital conditions.
