Mazindol vs. Phentermine

Both drugs belong to the amphetamines group, so they have similar effects. Phentermine, unlike Mazindol, is not recommended to be taken in the evening because of the risk of insomnia. Phentermine cannot be used to treat patients under the age of 16 years, and Mazindol can be taken by obese patients from 12 years old. 

Mazindol is more convenient to take since it can be taken with food. Phentermine should be taken 1-2 hours before breakfast and lunch.
